Afghanistan Evacuation Mission: The Lily Pad Project

Since the end of September 2021, Elpida Home has been assisting in the temporary resettlement of 318 evacuees from Afghanistan to Greece.

Our community center serves as a sustainable integration hub from which a range of services can reach Thessaloniki’s most vulnerable communities. The aim is for communities to access these services and engage in available programs and opportunities for their own empowerment.

Afghanistan’s women MPs fled for their lives when the Taliban took power – with only nine of 69 women MPs remaining, in hiding, in the country.

Το βράδυ της περασμένης Δευτέρας στο αεροδρόμιο «Μακεδονία» της Θεσσαλονίκης προσγειώθηκε μία πτήση τσάρτερ με 119 επιβάτες. Οικογένειες και παιδιά. Όλοι τους από το Αφγανιστάν και έκαναν ένα μεγάλο βήμα προς την ελευθερία.
